When I first set out to start my blog, I was not under the impression it would be easy. I know there are many articles out there that state otherwise; still, I know it takes hard work to make money. Regardless what you are doing. I think anybody starting a new blog needs to know it takes time and dedication. It takes hours of learning and hours of creating content. Eventually, the hard work will pay off if you stick with it. Don’t give up, constantly learn, be consistent and patient.
The benefits of blogging are endless, here are just a few: you can work from anywhere, you can set your own schedule, you are your own boss, you get to choose your niche, which more than likely will be your passion so, work will be easy! It is not a 9-5 job, you don’t have to commute which means less impact on global warming and think of the savings on gas! You could even work in your PJ’s, if you so please. 😊
You may want to start a blog, but like me have no idea how. There are many experts out there willing to share their success stories with you and help you create your own successful blog. I jumped in head-first and I am now working my way backwards. While there are many great bloggers out there who teach on how to blog and be successful, two of my favorite bloggers you need to follow before you start your own are:
www.ByRegina.com written by Regina
www.Breakingtheonepercent.com written by Jeff & Ben
I will start with Regina. She is a wealth of information and has a beautiful blog. She has a clean brand that catches your eye and makes you feel at home. You can tell in her writing that she truly cares for your success. She has a lot of free downloads to help you be successful and her Weekly Ninja’s a.k.a e-mails, are also full of tidbits. My favorite blog article of hers is http://byregina.com/serious-blogging/. I didn’t read this post before I started my blog, but I wish I did! I refer to this article often and I am slowly implementing her guidelines. I strongly urge anyone starting a blog to follow this checklist. I think it will help you launch a successful blog.
You can spend hours on her site and by the time you are leaving, you feel like you just made a close friend. She is very personal, yet professional. She is funny, yet serious. I highly recommend visiting her site and signing up for her emails. She will help guide you in your success with blogging.
Jeff and Ben with www.breakingtheonepercent.com are also bloggers who show they want you to succeed. I love how much free information they have out there for people to learn from. They are clean, concise and professional in their writing. Again, they also have a great Brand (I’m learning your Brand is everything). They give step-by-step instructions on their success; including letters they wrote or excel spreadsheets they use to keep track of information. This way you can model after them for your own success. I constantly refer to their site for help. For instance, I am learning how to market myself and I am building my own Excel Spreadsheet (Modeled after theirs) to help me with groups on Pinterest. (https://breakingtheonepercent.com/increase-pinterest-engagement/) It made me realize how important Group Boards are and to apply for many, not just a few. The more group boards, the more exposure you get!
Also, make sure to sign up for their e-mails and receive their free download, “How We Made $4000+ From One Blog Post…On a Brand New Website.” This download is a step-by-step guide on how to create a successful blog. Take your time on their site, read the many articles they have, it’s like getting a college course on blogging and it’s free!
Take the time to start your blog. I can’t express enough how important it is to take the time to learn, plan, and then implement. Remember, there is always a learning curve when you do something new. Give yourself grace and be patient. Have fun with your blog and enjoy the process!
